In keeping with the tradition of great American orchestral concerts of patriotic music, the LCSO plays and array of Sousa, Morton Gould, Gershwin, Bernstein, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin – just to name a few. And then there is always Tchaikovsky 1812! Resplendent with amazing brass playing, this concert is a rousing tribute to the American spirit and a grateful expression of thanks to the men and women who have served the cause of freedom in the armed forces.
